The classic T-Bone steak
A succulent sirloin and a tender fillet separated by the 'T' bone
A rare sight these days and sadly often missing from restaurant menu's... but not here!
A T-bone steak is a classic, flavourful cut of beef that’s known for its distinctive T-shaped bone and two different types of meat. It consists of two muscle groups: the tenderloin (or filet mignon) on one side and the sirloin steak (or New York strip) on the other. This cut is prized for its balance of tenderness and rich, beefy flavor. It’s typically grilled or pan-seared, often seasoned simply with salt and pepper to highlight the natural taste of the meat. Because the T-bone includes both a tender section and a more flavorful, slightly firmer section, it offers a unique eating experience. The best results come from cooking it to medium-rare or medium to preserve its juiciness and texture. Due to the bone, it can be a bit trickier to cook evenly, but when done right, a T-bone steak is a juicy, satisfying meal. It pairs well with classic steak sides like mashed potatoes, grilled vegetables, your favourite chunky chips or a fresh salad.
